FARMERS have hit the pavement in Bendigo to advocate for their farms against the proposed Goschen mineral sands mine.
The issue was one of many raised at the rally held outside a Rural Press Club of Victoria lunch as Premier Jacinta Allen made an address along with the Victoria to New South Wales Interconnector West and solar and wind farms.

KERANG Landcare will plant 100 trees this Sunday at the Middle Reedy Lake ibis rookery as the first stage of enhancing the area for tourists, locals and wildlife.

DESIGNS for a new $41.1 million aged care facility in Cohuna have been revealed by the Victorian Government.
The new 24-bed facility is set to replace the Cohuna District Nursing Home with a new state-of-the-art facility operated by Cohuna District Hospital.
PLANS for Swan Hill’s drag strip will progress after council voted up a motion for a lease-agreement with Skid City consortium.
The decision means consortium members can now begin negotiations with SHRCC in conjunction with CEO Scott Barber.

A WOMAN was arrested after police executed a warrant on a tobacconist in King George Street, Cohuna, last Friday morning.
Kerang, Cohuna and Koondrook police executed the warrant at 11:20 am, and arrested a 69-year-old Cohuna woman.
CLOSE to half of Victorians living in bushfire-prone areas are not concerned about bushfire safety, despite being at increased risk.
CFA said people in these areas were also waiting too long to leave in the event of a fire, putting themselves and their families in jepordary.
