Kerang

BLACK Duck Triples social bowls attracted a good crowd of 30 bowlers who enjoyed their day last Tuesday.

Tige Neville, Alan Marshall and Greg Hevrin notched up a win with plus 14 over the two games.

Helen Pendlebury, Noelene Brown and Peter Basile, put on a good display to be 11=up in the second game and take that prize money.

The jackpot has been claimed quite often over past weeks and it didn’t disappoint again last Tuesday.

Maurie Credlin, Gary Borg and Jenny Harrison met some stiff opposition throughout their two games, but that’s the appeal of the jackpot, it all depends on the all- important plus or minus tile to be drawn out and with minus 28 they were going home as winners.

This means the prize pool will revert to $60 this week.

A good crowd attended and enjoyed our presentation dinner at Sporties on Sunday night.

Kevin Teasdale won the men’s club singles championship for an impressive 13th time and Som Pascoe won the ladies club singles championship for the second time. Runners up in the respective events were Trevor Pock and Judith Hipwell.

Men’s pairs were won by Trevor Pocock and Kevin Teasdale with Rod Pascoe and Greg Tate runners-up.

The ladies’ pairs championship was won for a seventh time by Helen McBain and Barb Williams. Runners-up were Som Pascoe and Jenny Harrison.

The ladies drawn pairs were won by Judith Hipwell and Helen McBain with Barb Williams and Jo Adams runners-up.

Ladies’ 100-up capped off a very successful season for Helen McBain with Gayle Teasdale as runner-up.

The club mixed pairs was won by Kevin and Gayle Teasdale with Adrian Bates and Som Pascoe runners-up.

Captain Dale Hancock presented the premiership shield and plaque for their success in winning the inaugural Northen Valley competition.

Each player was presented with a certificate and a team photo in recognition of their success.

Our resident club historian, Teaser, spoke of the impressive sporting career of Graeme Morris before arriving on the bowling green in 2010 as he received his super veteran’s badge from president Rod.

Names of those available for pennant need to be added to the noticeboard before July 29 so that we can enter teams in Northern District Pennant.

With the AGM rapidly approaching, we are still requiring nominations for the various positions as on the noticeboard.

Please consider where your talents can be used for the benefit of the club.
