KERANG

LADIES Stableford was on Wednesday.

It was a windy, cold morning after the overnight rain but it’s not often that it can be reported that 75 percent of the field won a prize, that is probably a record somewhere.

The winners were Jan Milne (41) who scored 32 points and the runner-up was Shirley Jenner (21) with 30 points.

The other prize winner was Carol Dear for the nearest the pin on Chino’s 9th hole.

Thursday was R & R Stableford.

There were 23 entrants, with Peter Jones the winner with 39 points.

The ball pool went to G. Gin (38 points) and J. Murphy and B. Shay (36 points).

The nearest the pins were won by M. Wilson (3rd), T. Laughlin (5th), D. Ellwood (9th) and B. Shay (13th).

Saturday was Stableford.

It was good to see 50 members and guests playing the course, with normal numbers swelled by visitors from Murray Downs.

The ladies winner was Susanne Riddington from Rich River Golf Club with 36 points, while the men’s winner was David Gray with 39 points.

The ball pool went to C. Waterson, T. Hall, B. Gibson, P. Hall, D. Conlan and J. Apostolelis, while the nearest the pins went to K. Travou (5th), B. Shay (9th), T. Hall (13th) and D. Meehan (16th).

Our Annual Tournament starts next Thursday, November 28, with the Choice Cut Butchers 4BBB, followed by the Hall’s Hardware Pat McKnight Trophy on Saturday, November 30, the Walkers IGA 3-Person Ambrose on Sunday, December 1, and the Ian Laughlin 4BBB on Sunday, December 8.

Sunday, November 24 is the Groove On The Green event from 4pm to 9pm being put on by the golf club, so get in and get your tickets as soon as possible.
