A WOMAN was arrested after police executed a warrant on a tobacconist in King George Street, Cohuna, last Friday morning.
Kerang, Cohuna and Koondrook police executed the warrant at 11.20am, and arrested a 69-year-old Cohuna woman.
The tobacconist and convenience store only opened its doors earlier this month.
Officers allegedly located 1945g of loose tobacco, 80 cartons of cigarettes (16,000 units), 143 packets of 20 pack cigarettes (2860 units), 21 individual cigarettes and $2246.
The woman was charged with knowingly possessing tobacco products with the intent to defraud, recklessly possess tobacco products with intent to defraud, deal with money and property being proceeds of an indictable crime.
She was also charged with recklessly possessing imported tobacco products, selling excisable goods, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
She was bailed to appear before the Kerang Magistrates’ Court on December 19.
