Kerang punish Swan Hill

Alex Lloyd

KERANG hosted Swan Hill in SHDCA B Grade action at the weekend.

Swan Hill had some early success after sending Kerang into bat, the scores soon at 2/15.

However, the Blues managed to fight back to finish with a very handy score of 9/222 from their 40 overs, Alex Lloyd (48) and Tyler Schmidt (48) the main contributors.

In reply, the Swans fell short as Josh Powley picked up three wickets for minimal runs, while captain Declan Hogg claimed two of his own.

Swan Hill were bowled out for 120 with 14 overs to spare.

Kerang have now won consecutive matches and are starting to put together some impressive performances in their first season in the SHDCA.

Matt Barnes did the damage, scoring 129 including 25 boundaries and two sixes, while Tim Free provided great support, making 67.
