IT was a small but quality field at Wednesday’s ladies Stableford.

Experience showed the way with Rhonda Willoughby winning with 36 points. Runner-up was Angela Morton with 31 points.

Chino’s 9th nearest to the pin went to Joyce Boyd. Next week 9.30am for a 10am hit-off.

A good field of 24 entered R&R Stableford on Thursday. In ideal conditions a score of at least 37 was needed to get in the ball pool.

The winner was Matthew Heavyside with a scorching hot score of 43 points, closely followed by Chris Waterson who had a par round for 39 points and is now down to a handicap of just 2.

Others in the ball pool were D Ellwood 38, G Teasdale, and S Dibsdale 37.

NTP went to G Wyte 3rd, D Ellwood 5th, G Service 9th, S Dibsdale 13th and 16 went unclaimed. The coveted pen award was fiercely contested and went to Casey Gillen.

Captain Jack added some spice to the day’s event adding a 4BBB aggregate to the fixture at Saturday’s Stableford.

The winners of the 4BBB were J Hewitt and M Wilson with 74, B Gibson and S Harry 72, and S Kelly and B McKnight 71.

The Stableford ladies winner was S Jenner, scoring 32 points. J Hewitt was the men’s winner, scoring 38 on countback from R Pay.

Ball pool went to S Kelly, B Gibson and J Tartaglia all on 37, C Waterson 36 and M Wilson 35. NTP 3rd J Hewitt, 5th D Ellwood, 9th S Kelly, Super pin G Teasdale and 16th B Gibson.


Veterans

A TOTAL of 39 veteran golfers arrived at Barham Golf Club on November 21 for the Stableford event and were lucky to finish before a rain storm.

Thanks to the pro shop staff for your help, and the greenkeepers for the condition of the course.

Ladies winner was Geraldine Kennedy with 36 points on a countback from Joan Hobbs who had to settle for runner-up.

Men’s A Grade winner was David Wilkinson with 39 points, while Graham Wyte was runner-up with 34 points on a countback.

Joe Tartaglia was winner of B Grade with 37 points, while Ron Schultze came second with 34 points.

Nearest to pins: Jenice Krahnert 6th and 12th, Meryl Cameron 9th, Shirley Jenner 19th, David Wilkinson 6th, Jack Hewitt 9th, Ross Fleming 12th and Graham Wyte 19th.

Ball pool: Kerry Gammon, Jenice Krahnert, Joan Foster, John Brunt and Ray Henshall.

The next veterans event is the Christmas four-ball at Tooleybuc on Tuesday, December 12.
