Kerang v Ultima-TUF
KERANG won the toss and decided to make first use of batsmen-friendly conditions, with the Blues posting a more than competitive total of 212.
Harry Bremner led the way with the bat, amassing 70 runs from 77 balls, while Josh Powley also continued his good form, scoring 34 off 21.
Ultima-TUF went down swinging in their reply, scoring quickly through the first 20 overs, but Kerang applied pressure in the field.
Bremner again did most of the damage with 5/4 off six overs and the Roodogs were bowled out for 108 in the 30th over.
Wandella v Barham-Koondrook
THE local derby between Wandella and Barham-Koondrook proved a one-sided affair, with the Bombers claiming a 95-run win.
After Wandella won the toss and batted, Laine Gibbons got his side off to a flyer with a quick-fire 34, before Rhys Behrens (37) and Nicholas Oliver (48) put on a 45-run partnership for the third wicket.
Some late hitting by Mick Bott and Samuel Hollingworth got Wandella to 6/200 from their 40 overs. The best of the Raiders’ bowlers was Aiden Thompson (1/22), but the wickets were shared among the bowlers.
In reply, Barham-Koondrook got off to a steady start, losing their first wicket with the score on 32 in the seventh over.
Thompson made a quick-fire 29, while Stephen Ralston batted well for 24 before being forced to retire hurt.
The middle-order collapsed, however, and the Raiders finished all out for 105 in the 32nd over.
Leigh Hollingworth was the chief destroyer, claiming 3/24 from seven overs, with Laing Waddingham (2/26) and Jaspa Chamberlain (2/17) also bowling well.
Murrabit v Sea Lake-Woomelang
SEA Lake-Woomelang won the toss and batted, but this proved to be their only win of the day and Murrabit claimed a four-wicket win.
Only two of Sea Lake’s batsmen reached double digits, Phil Cox scoring 23. Judd Durie, Brodie Hall and Mitchel Gilbert claiming three wickets each and Murrabit bowled Sea Lake-Woomelang out for 65.
Murrabit were far from convincing in their reply, losing six wickets on their way to passing the required total in the 28th over, with Alan Friswell leading the Blues home with an unbeaten 35.
