MURRAY River Council is inviting the community to share its views on the new arts and culture strategy, via a series of pop-up sessions.
Acting Mayor Frank Crawley said the community sessions were a crucial step in the development of the new strategy, which aims to support a “vibrant and connected” arts and culture sector across the region.
“We want this new strategy to build upon the existing strengths of our arts and cultural programs and boost the profile of creative industries within our community,” Cr Crawley said.
“It will also provide clear direction on the council’s role in shaping events, festivals, arts, history, and cultural heritage in our region for years to come.
“So, we invite our community to share their thoughts, perspectives, and experiences with us to help shape the future of our creative sector.
“These consultations are an opportunity to influence the direction we take, so please pop along if you can.”
Council has engaged creative agency Spark Strategy to help deliver the final document and drive the pop-up sessions.
Community sessions in the Greater Wakool Ward will happen at Barham, near IGA, on October 5 (11.30am-1.30pm), Wakool Pub on October 5 (5pm-7pm), Moulamein Library on October 6 (10.30am-12.30pm) and Tooleybuc Sporting Club on October 6 (5pm-7pm).
