Charley Bagg is enjoying a bit of a rest from social activities at the Barham Bowling Club, as his cohort Spike Laursen has headed up north.
These two blokes love their bowls and are obviously working very hard as club members once bowls is finished each week, because they are always last to leave.
Look out though, Charley, Spike will likely return all refreshed.
The weather must be getting cold. I saw Herman Fowler strolling the streets of Kerang wearing a pair of shoes.
What’s going on there, Herm? Get a blowout in the thongs?
It must be noted that the local legend was still in jeans and t-shirt.
Former journo at the Gannawarra Times, Andrew Rogers would have been pretty happy with Melbourne’s victory over Collingwood in the Big Freeze match in Round 13 on the King’s Birthday weekend.
A-Rodge and former editor Ken Jenkins are both proud Demons supporters and are obviously looking for the Dees to be still playing deep into the finals. Don’t get too excited though Andrew. Remain calm.
The AFL seems to be a pretty even affair with a few teams capable of winning the big one – not my team though.
A win in the World Test Championship final was a good thing for Australia. Warner made runs when some wanted him dropped (myself included), Scotty Boland did the job and he must have watched Glenn McGrath a bit because he bowls a similar style and Travis Head continues his great form.
The Indians most likely made a mistake not batting first and not playing Ashwin but they will whinge – I mean talk about that for a long time.
Maybe the World Test Championship should be a best of five at different venues in a neutral country … or always in England?
The Exchange Hotel is running bingo each week which started last Thursday at 7pm. All proceeds will be going to local charities.
Mitchell Southern has taken over down there at Guesty’s. All the best to Leigh and Judy and congratulations to Mitch. Hope it all goes brilliantly.
