Tyres slashed, property taken

Koondrook crime spree

IT was a “deflating start” to 2023 for many after an offender allegedly slashed 13 tyres in Koondrook last week, while businesses were also targeted in a border crime spree.

The alleged offender was at Forest Street about 6.30am on January 7, and punctured the tyres on vehicles and trailers.

Police are also investigating forced entry to the post office and hairdresser in Main Street, Koondrook, about 5.30am on January 8.

Between December 30 and January 4, offenders accessed an old church in Main Street, Koondrook, and stole antique items such as an old gramophone and vinyl records.

Information is also being sought after offenders forced entry to a plumbing business in Grigg Road between noon on January 1 and 8am the following day.

A trailer with a Kanga digger was stolen.

Llama shot dead

A LLAMA was killed in a Mystic Park paddock earlier this month.

The animal was shot at the Bartel Road property some time between 4pm on January 5 and 12 noon the following day.

Scam beware

POLICE are investigating a scam after someone allegedly changed bank account details on invoices.

During the past month, a local agricultural business received several emails with invoices attached for the purchase of stock feed.

Police said the business owner was “savvy enough” to contact the business and confirm bank details as an offender had accessed her incoming emails and changed bank account details on the invoices.

“These invoices were from different businesses and came to a total in excess of $90,000,” a police spokesperson said.

“If you receive an email or invoice with a change of bank details, please double check with the company, it could save you thousands of dollars.”

Pump stolen

A SPRAY pump was allegedly stolen from a Horfield property earlier this month.

The theft happened some time between 9am on January 2 and 6pm on January 4 from a Simpson Road property.

Tool set theft

POLICE say a band new tool set was stolen from a Murrabit property in the new year.

Offenders accessed a shed off Hughes Lane some time between 10am on January 1 and 9am the following day.

Along with the Kinchrome tool set, a Makita angle grinder and a Honda Gentech generator were stolen.
