Saturday bowls was cancelled due to the hot weather.

Cohuna Golf BowlsThe ladies club championship final was played on Tuesday, between Rhonda Bibby and Linda McManus.

Linda quickly adjusted to the slightly sticky green, and opened up an early handy break, and despite Rhonda regrouping, Linda powered on with excellent weight and line to claim her first ever title.

The men played on Saturday morning to beat the heat, and it was Mick Carmody who adjusted best early, racing away to a comprehensive lead.

Jarred Hammond slowly began to bridge the gap got one in front as both bowlers entered the 20s, then with a series of very strong ends was able to wrap up his fifth title 25-22.

Hammond now goes on to play for the Division title on December 13, also participating in the Mixed Pairs final (with Barham’s Jean Fairchild) the Sunday prior.

Results from the remaining Tuesday ladies matches saw Denise’s team defeat Yvonne, while Irene, Glenda and Deanne took off the trophies against Ann’s side.
