Ready to groove

THE Kerang Golf Club is gearing up for Groove on the Green this Sunday.

The popular annual music event, now held on the first fairway of the course, will take place for the fourth time this weekend.

Solo act Lokki Accoustic, from Echuca, will again grace the lawns.

This year he will be joined by Bendigo ‘Brothers’ Jay Critcher and James Hollands.

The pair are veteran musicians who play top 40, classic, old school and retro covers.

Organiser and club member Jan Harry said the performers would take turns throughout the evening.

“It’s just five hours of non-stop music in a relaxed atmosphere,” she said.

“It’s such a great night.

“Anyone who comes for the first time is blown away by what a nice event it is.

“It’s very family oriented and friendly.”

Ms Harry said catering, provided by The Woodbox and Table for 12, would have a Spanish twist, with paella on offer.

Kerang Golf Club secretary Graham Wyte said Groove on the Green was a social event for the club, as well as a fundraiser for the Loddon Murray Cycling Club’s Murray to Moyne ride.

“It’s a fundraiser but it’s also an opportunity for all of the members to get together at one time – bowlers, golfers and their families, and anyone else who wants to come along,” he said.

Groove on the Green will run from 4pm until 9pm at the Kerang Golf Club on Sunday.

Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair.

A bus service to Barham and Murrabit areas can be booked when purchasing tickets.
