Twilight triples commences

Twilight triples commences Wednesday, October 16 at 6pm. Entry fee includes free barbecue, burgers and sausages (steaks $5) and one game of 15 ends. Please enter your team on the noticeboard, single player entries also invited.

Pennant practice: Committee has proposed practice nights between 5 and 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, pennant players please attend day that suits.

Friday will be a casual roll up day followed by a social drink at the club. Please come and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

Saturday pennant bowls started last weekend, with playing conditions being pleasant.

Results

Division 1 defeated Kerang Golf 73 (10pts) to 61 (2pts).

Frank Tonn defeated Andy Jeffs 31/18.

The team of Frank Tonn, Ray Storey, Don Opie and Jo Eagles will be dining out at the Leitchville Hotel. Note that the dinner vouchers can be used any night of the week.

Jason Lunghusen defeated Frank Ritchie 23/17; Stephen Baker lost to Lloyd Murray 19/26.

Division 2 lost to Cohuna Golf White 55 (0pts) to 95 (12pts).

Gary Hawken lost to Bruce Morrison 13/40; Graham Wilson lost to Peter Bibby 24/26; John Walters lost to Yvonne Eckhardt 18/29.

This Saturday, pennant Division 1 play at home to Cohuna Golf and Division 2 play at home to Cohuna Golf Navy.

Saturday morning duty persons are Frank Tonn and Ray Storey to wipe seats, rake ditches, place mats, kiddies and scoreboards out.

Saturday bar duty: Kevin Dehne team.

There will be pennant practice every Friday from 3pm and a barbecue afterwards.

Next committee meeting is Tuesday, November 12 at 7.30pm.

November 3/24: Mens and Ladies State Pairs at Barham Sports. Entries close October 27.

December 1/8: State Mixed Pairs at Leitchville. Entries close November 24.

December 15: Mens and Ladies State Triples at Wakool. Entries close December 8

All state entries must be submitted through the club secretary.

Quambatook

Quambatook will travel to Berriwillock this week for round 2 of Saturday pennant after being defeated by Birchip at home last week.

The Bob Wilson Memorial Fours Tournament was held on Tuesday in cool and blustery conditions, making bowling very difficult.

Ten teams contested the day and the winner was Barry Theobald’s team from Barham/Kerang, winning all four games.

Runner-up was Ivan McCarry’s team from White Hills.
