THE Cohuna Kangas could go into the AFL Victoria Community Championship break sitting in the Central Murray Football Netball League top five thanks to a win against Tyntynder tomorrow.
The Kangas’ 46-point win last weekend against Lake Boga was the first sign the side can win games without relying on coach, Rick Easton in the forward line.
Twelve Kangas players kicked goals last weekend, and this pattern could continue again tomorrow against a Bulldogs outfit yet to win a game so far this season.
Tyntynder has faced three of last season’s top five sides so far this year, and will look to record its first win since round 17, 2015.
If this is to occur, Brad Carroll will need to dominate in front of his home crowd, which can happen if Bryce Delmenico and Brock Storer control play in the middle of the ground.
Rhys Bradley will have other ideas, with the defender to go to Carroll, whilst Dylan Friedberger and Damien Boyer will aim to lead the way in the middle of the ground.
Kokwam Niki and Ben Archard will aim to repeat their efforts from six days ago, something Tyntynder defenders, Trent Collins and Patrick Crowe will need to be mindful of.
The Kangas last defeated the Bulldogs in round nine, 2014 and have not won at Alan Garden Reserve since round one, 2012.
PREDICTION: The Cohuna Kangas will reclaim the beyondblue cup – an annual initiative between the two sides – with a 30-point win.
