RESIDENTS are being encouraged to learn first-hand about the role of the district’s police officers at a forum occurring next month.
A community policing forum will be held at the Kerang Memorial Hall on Monday, May 9 from 7pm, featuring many of the force’s local leaders.
Those in attendance will learn about what operations are occurring locally and also have the chance to ask questions to presenters.
“This forum is a really important opportunity for the public to meet our executive officers from Swan Hill Local Area Command, as well as myself,” Kerang police office commander, Senior Sergeant Dave Bowler said.
“The community does not get the opportunity to see us and vice versa due to our day-to-day capabilities, and mainly speak to front of line officers.”
Topics to be discussed at the forum include police statistics, service delivery commitments and crime prevention measures.
Personnel will also explain Victoria Police’s two-up policy and its impact on service delivery.
The forum is the last of three district sessions. Forums have been held at Cohuna and Koondrook.
