Dingwall wins Murray Valley CWA trophy

DINGWALL Country Women’s Association attended the Murray Valley Group Conference in Swan Hill last week.

As part of the conference, each branch competed in the craft and home industries section.

Members of Dingwall CWA Branch entered a teddy bear’s picnic theme for the craft items, with a mini crocheted teddy bear and his knitted friend ollie octopus and included a plate of miniature hand crafted food items.

Home industries included an orange cake, chocolate slice and a bottle of home made tomato sauce against strong and enthusiastic other Murray Valley Branches.

Dingwall CWA delegates were thrilled to learn that they had won first prize of the Murray Valley CWA prestigious trophy.

The perpetual trophy, a bronze meeting gong, was accepted by delegates Alvis Eddy, Heather Mortlock, Fay Godden and Mary Fenton from group president Suzanna O’Halloran and M.V. craft leader Lorna Howell.

Dingwall Branch Country Women’s Association celebrated their 70th birthday in June this year. It is the last surviving branch of the Loddon Valley Group.

The Murray Valley Group is celebrating its 90th birthday later this month.
