RESIDENTS are encouraged to nominate fellow Gannawarra Shire Council residents who help make the area a great place to live as part of the 2023 Australia Day Awards program.
Nominations for this popular program are now open, with residents able to complete a form online
“Our Australia Day Awards program are a highlight of local Australia Day celebrations, as it is our opportunity to recognise those who do great things in the Gannawarra,” Mayor Charlie Gillingham said.
“This year’s winners are an example of this. Our 2022 Citizen of the Year, Ross Bateman, has preserved the Gannawarra’s sporting history for future generations, whilst our 2022 Young Citizen of the Year, Taylah Clements, has been a pivotal member of the municipality’s FreeZa committee.”
Nominations are sought for Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year (for residents aged 15-24 years on January 26, 2023).
