COHUNA

WE had a number of people returning from holidays but another who returned because he is on holiday was Peter Richardson who took out first place on countback from Brenton Smyth, both having 36 points.

Regular performer Mal Appleby came in 3rd with 33. Geoff Mill took out NTP on 2, Bruce Bird on 8, Brenton Smyth on 11 and Leigh Gorrie on 17.

Saturday looked like being wet and drizzly, which kept a few players away, but for those that did show up, the weather turned favourable and the members enjoyed the day.

Whilst the weather was pleasant, Doug Peace was burning up the course, turning in a scorching 44 points.

Next best, but some way back, was Brenton Smyth, with 36, with Ron Farrant and Hayden Bird split on countback with 33. NTP went to Mal Apppleby on 2 and Ron Farrant on 8.

The ladies Sunday competition was taken out by Helen Thies, with 34, from Sandra Griffiths, with 32, and Robyn McGraw, with 31. NTP went to Helen McSparron on 2, Robyn McGraw on 8 and Helen Thies on 11.

The men’s monthly medal was taken out by a worthy winner in Joel Woolhouse, who has been noticed working hard on his game recently and narrowly missed in the man’s knockout competition last week.

Joel was winner on countback from Kevin Crane and Dom Baxter, with all three returning with 74 nett. Joel also took out NTP on 2, Dom on 8, Kevin on 11 and Wayne Robinson on 17.

Carol and Meryl both had 29 putts, but Carol won on the countback. It was nearly Meryl’s day but not quite. Michelle had the best shot on the 9th. Jill won the lovely blue pen.

Lunch was enjoyed by all, and a cake was shared to celebrate Geraldine’s special birthday. It was good to welcome Nola back and to see Lorraine looking well.
