ON a fine sunny Tuesday with a gentle cool breeze last week, the black duck social triples took place with 30 players participating.
The two-game winners with the highest margin collectively was Lindsay Hein, Terry Nolan and Helen Pendlebury with a score of +13.
The second game highest-margin winners were Don Monaghan, Ron McKerrow and Judy Hipwell who won handsomely by 12 shots.
The jackpot didn’t go off and swelled to $90.
Not quite the amount of a couple of weeks ago, but still a nice collect if you are lucky enough.
The only way to become lucky enough is to put your name down onto the sheet in the clubhouse or simply call the club on 5452 1194 to get a game on the morning of play.
We had a team travel to Euston for their Star Studded Triples over the weekend and although the weather wasn’t the greatest of all time, I’m sure our representatives carried themselves in a positive manner.
That’s what Don Monaghan will tell you anyway.
Having played in this event a couple of times, I can tell you it is a great weekend away with some of the best hospitality on offer.
Now, the topic that has been on everyone’s lips is the merger between NDPA and MVPA.
We will be meeting together on Tuesday to discuss the opportunity of the possibility of a change of scenery on the bowls horizon.
Our regional bowls manager in Josh Thornton will be in attendance to field any questions or queries which our members may have.
So, there is no excuse for not knowing the finer intricacies and nuances after the meeting, as we will have all had the opportunity to speak up and ask a few hard questions.
The meeting will begin at 6pm and everybody should make the time available for it.
