HAMMERS, nails and dancing proved to be a popular choice for children visiting Gannawarra Library Service’s branches this week.
The service’s school holiday program wrapped up yesterday, with good attendance figures at all events.
Close to 20 children gathered at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Tuesday for the string art session, which incorporated a Harry Potter theme.
The session built on the skills learnt during last year’s Star Wars-themed sessions, with participants creating either the Deathly Hallows logo or an outline of Harry Potter’s iconic hair, glasses and lightning-shaped scar using wood, nails and string.
Meanwhile, Australian Ballet representatives ran two sessions at the service’s Cohuna branch on Wednesday, enabling participants to explore the story of Sleeping Beauty through dance.
More than 30 children took part in the unique event across two sessions, which involved games, choreographic and performance-based learning.
Those who took part were amazed by the images shown to depict the story, with props from the popular performance also displayed.
