THE Riverside Park sports stadium will be transformed into an art gallery during Easter.
Around 300 entries have been received for the Kerang Easter Art Show, staged annually by the Rotary Club of Kerang, which continues to grow in stature.
The show opens at 7pm on Good Friday and will be open to the public again on Saturday between 10am and 6pm and and on Sunday between 10am and 3pm.
It is one of the myriad of attractions across the district during the Easter period. Churches services will commemorate the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and sporting events are prominent, with horse racing, bowls, tennis and a tractor pull.
Local artists yesterday received a pre-show bonus with art show judge, Maxine Wade conducting a workshop, which continues today.
Ms Wade taught art in a number of secondary colleges during a 27 year career before operating a picture framing business for five years, then tutoring adults in watercolour, drawing, life drawing and mixed media at many art societies in Melbourne.
She has won many awards for her work, held many solo and joint exhibitions over 35 years and is conducts art tours to France and Italy.
Ms Wade will demonstrate her craft at the art show on Saturday afternoon.
The public is encouraged to attend the official opening tomorrow night, which includes the announcement of show awards, complimentary wine and savoury supper. Gannawarra Shire Council will add to its public art collection with its annual acquisition award.
