New RSL members

COHUNA-Leitchville RSL sub-branch has welcomed eight new members, and president Trevor Powis and membership officer John Brown presented them with badges and membership cards.

Club secretary Beverly Brown said membership numbers stood at 112 with the newest additions.

“Our new members include Alan Cooke, a Vietnam veteran who joined as a service member, and the other seven joined as affiliate members,” she said.

“Affiliate membership is available to those not eligible to join as service members but who demonstrate a commitment to serving the league and realise its objectives.

“The league is busy getting organised for the 11am service on Remembrance Day on November 11.

“Ron Stanton will be guest speaker, and we encourage and invite everyone to attend this important commemoration service honouring our lost in all previous wars and conflicts.”
