Property crown for King & Co

REAL estate agency Charles L. King & Co Cohuna & Barham has been recognised for their “outstanding achievement” among other Victorian and Tasmanian real estate agencies at the First National’s General Excellence and Marketing Awards.

The award ceremony, on Saturday 16 March at Grand Hyatt Melbourne, was attended by agencies from across the agency’s network.

Winners will travel to the network’s National Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in May.

Charles L. King & Co Cohuna & Barham received the award for the Highest Number of Exclusive Listings, Highest Number of Settled Sales and Highest Gross Sales Commission for Rural Sales.

The agency has been providing their services in rural towns near Cohuna and Barham since 1911, but this was the first time they took home the big award of the night.

Director Rohan Ibbs said the team was not expecting to win.

“We didn’t realise we were going to get the award,” Mr Ibbs said.

“It was a surprise to us. We’re only a small office and and we were up against the big offices in Victoria and Tasmania.”

Livestock Real Estate Sales agent Alan Mitchell won the Elite Salesperson Award, Diamond Sales Award (Rural), and Highest Gross Sales (Rural).

“I just have to thank our staff for the hard work they do. They’ve been fantastic and contributed to getting the awards,” Mr Ibbs said.

“These awards are a testament to my staff’s dedication to serving our clients with the highest level of professionalism and integrity. We are incredibly proud of their success and grateful for the contributions they make to our company and the real estate industry as a whole.”

Mr Ibbs added the agency has had a prosperous 2023.

“The real estate has been really strong in this area especially with all the rural properties,” he said.

“We’ve been doing a lot of off-market sales as well. We just try and do the best we can for our clients, and service the area as best as we can.”
