Good food goes with great coffee

THE heart of the community is the place where you are greeted by warm smiles, enjoy fresh coffee, and have a tantalising array of baked goods to choose from.

Welcome to the Long Paddock Food Store.

Located at Shop 2, 86 Main Street, Koondrook, the Long Paddock Food Store is right in the heart of the picturesque heritage area of town.

Owner Kylie Whelan bought this vibrant and popular cafe in 2012.

Kylie, justifiably, feels a great sense of pride when she opens to customers at the start of the day.

Open Wednesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch.

Visitors and locals can enjoy a warm and friendly decor, safe in the knowledge that delicious local produce, freshly brewed coffee, and a seasonal menu await.

Long Paddock Food Store has a daily specials board where there will be something for everyone’s taste buds.

With offerings like slow-cooked brisket in smoky barbecue sauce, beer-battered blue grenadier, and pumpkin and feta salad, the menu is both distinctive and a joy to eat.

Enjoy a range of freshly baked goodies, including slices and cakes, sausage rolls, pies, tarts and gourmet salads.

Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also on the daily menu. With the colder weather about to hit, Kylie’s signature winter dish of lamb ragu gnocchi is sure to again be in great demand.

Popular with both locals and visitors, the Long Paddock Food Store hosts regular visits from local retirement home residents who gather for a social morning or afternoon.

The wheelchair-friendly venue offers everyone enjoy easy access.

Don’t go past Long Paddock Food Store when you have a special occasion to celebrate. If you find locals eating there, you know it’s the place to be

“We love having larger groups book our venue,” Kylie said.

“It’s very special for our team to help celebrate a milestone in someone’s family.”

She said full catering was also available.

“We cater for outside functions so let us do the work for you,” said Kylie, who will customise function menus for each individual occasion.

With competitive pricing, why not let someone else do the work?

Whether it’s to stop by, take out, or sit, relax, and chill for a while – Long Paddock Store is the right place.

What’s not to love? Head on down and say hi to Kylie and her friendly team.
