Soggy end to thrill ride

A HOON’S thrill ride quickly came to an end after an allegedly stolen car struggled through floodwater near Kerang earlier this month.

Police detected a vehicle travelling at 120km/h in a 40km/h zone about 6pm on November 8.

It attempted to travel through floodwater on the Murray Valley Highway but the engine was damaged by water allowing police to catch up.

There were two males in the vehicle. The driver was found to have a disqualified licence.

He underwent a roadside drug test which was allegedly positive.

The car was also stolen from Bendigo.

A quantity of a crystal substance was also allegedly located in the car (believed to be methyl amphetamine).

The driver was remanded in custody.


Four-wheel bike theft

POLICE are investigating the alleged theft of a four-wheel motor bike from a Kerang property.

The blue Yamaha Grizzly vehicle was stolen from the Murray Valley Highway property some time between 12.30pm and 4.30pm on November 9.


Tinny, fuel stolen from flood-hit property

CALLOUS thieves allegedly stole a three metre tinny and diesel from tractors at a property surrounded by water in Kerang

Police said the theft happened some time between November 6 and 8 from the Kerang-Koondrook Road property.
