PUBLIC toilets at both Atkinson Park in Kerang and Cohuna’s Apex Park have been vandalised in recent days.
“Between 5pm on the 10th (of January) and 6am on the 13th, unknown persons have gone into the toilet at Atkinson Park and pulled the lights and toilet roll dispenser off the wall in two of the toilet cubicles,” Kerang police stated.
Acting Senior Sergeant Roberta Barry, of Kerang police, said the damage was estimated at $350, the investigation is ongoing and members of the public were requested to assist if able to do so.
She indicated police were seeking anyone with information, including witnesses to the damage, people who have captured dash camera footage in the area that they believe may be helpful, or those who have heard anything about who may be responsible for the act of vandalism.
At Apex Park, Cohuna, locks were removed from multiple toilet doors, with the cost of repairs not specified.
“The matter’s already been solved. A youth offender has been processed,” Leading Senior Constable Dean Closter, of Cohuna police, said.
The Cohuna incident took place last weekend, with the police officer indicating it is unrelated to the toilet vandalism in Kerang.
