KERANG and the Mallee Eagles recorded big wins in Saturday’s round of Central Murray Football Netball League matches, whilst Tyntynder pipped the Cohuna Kangas.
The match between the Bulldogs and Kangas was one of the games of the season, with goals from Angus Op’Thoog and Brad Carroll late in the match giving the hosts an eight-point win.
The loss was the Kangas’ fifth in row, and leaves the side seventh on the ladder, outside the top four due to percentage.
Scott Beattie kicked four goals for the Kangas, who take on Woorinen this weekend.
Koondrook/Barham remains in the hunt for the finals, despite a 104-point loss to the Mallee Eagles.
Zak Saad kicked five goals to secure the Eagles’ seventh consecutive win of the season, with Ryan Estall booting three of the Raiders’ eight goals of the match.
Meanwhile, Kerang remains on top of the ladder following a 68-point win against Tooleybuc/Manangatang.
Ryan Gillingham kicked four of the Blues’ nine goals, with the hosts stacking the back line to ensure the result would not be as large as it could have been.
The move was costly for the Saints, who only manages three behinds for the game.
