B Grade: Blues fail to fire

Kerang vs Wandella

IT was a bad day to be a Blue, as Kerang elected to bat on the road Wandella had prepared, but that wasn’t enough to post a respectable score.

Only lasting 17 overs, Kerang were bowled out for 63.

Harry Bremner was the man with the bat, managing 20, followed by Alex Lloyd with 14.

Leigh Hollingsworth cleaned up the tail, picking up 4/15 off three overs, while Laing Waddingham joined in with 3/32.

Wandella looked to chase it down, but

As Wandella chased, a Matt Hodgson screamer in slips removed Rhys Behrens, providing momentum to the Blues.

However, Paddy and Nick Oliver, boys with real cricket talent, drove the ship home by putting on a 50-run partnership for the Bombers to win in 17 overs, only losing three wickets.

Murrabit vs Ultima TUF

MURRABIT held a run festival against Ultima after electing to hit and batting out the 40 overs.

Josh Bray opened for an impressive 73, while his partner Zeb Hein joined him with 50. Morgan Turvey and Nathan O’Toole got to the 30s as Murrabit finished with an impressive 4/238.

Marshall King would be Ultima TUF’s best batsman, scoring 54, but his teammates couldn’t join him as they fell for 104 in 30 overs.

Brodie Hall, Travis Collier and Kye McKerrow each took two wickets for under 20 runs during the 134-run win.
