Sophie’s the right choice

Your opportunity to be heard and shape our future

The forthcoming Federal election gives you and each of us the opportunity at last to be heard. It’s time for us to drive a fresh new start, a reset, and the chance to finally move on.

My name is Geoff Kendell, a past farmer advocate representing our families and business communities across the Mallee electorate at State and National level.

I feel so strongly about the lack of political vision and action in our electorate, that I’m writing to you to endorse and throw my full support behind Sophie Baldwin who is an outstanding community member running as an Independent for our seat of Mallee at the forthcoming Federal Election.

We have been let down for too long by this lack of political vision and action. It is now the time for change … and your vote for Sophie Baldwin is for a true independent who will give you the opportunity to be heard and together, shape our future.

As a long-time concerned local, I’ve been personally talking and listening to so many of you in our communities of all ages. Here’s what I know … People are tired; many in our community are mentally exhausted and physically fatigued over the inaction present party politics has dealt us.

So many people have been telling me it’s time for change and you just want to be heard and not ignored.

An election gives us our only chance for this to happen, for one day every three years.

I firmly believe Sophie Baldwin is the person we need to help shape our future success. Why?

Sophie has been a dairy farmer for 24 years in the Cohuna region and a rural journalist for 14 years.

For the last 18 months Sophie has been the CEO of the Southern Riverina Irrigators, representing 1800 generational farming families. When you combine all that with her grit and determination as a competing triathlete, and most importantly to her daughters, a mum, Sophie has the credentials, knowledge and experience we need in our elected representative for our community.

Standing as an independent, I know Sophie Baldwin will allow the true voices of our community to be heard and drive the changes we have all been calling for.

When you vote for Sophie, you’re voting for someone who is a hardworking community person who is respectful, leads with integrity and has good ethical values. A person who tells it as it is, and a person who is deeply concerned about her children’s future and the community she lives and works in.

If as I do, you too believe now is the time to make real and positive progress for our future, I urge you to vote 1 Sophie Baldwin Independent for Mallee.

Geoff Kendell,

Kerang/Cohuna
