NORTHAVEN Baptcare aged-care home at Kerang has unveiled the addition of two mobile chairs for immobile residents, the result of fund-raising performed by the Northaven Ladies Auxiliary.
The chairs were purchased after the auxiliary presented the aged care facility with about $5000 in donations.
The chairs, which are extremely easy for carers to manoeuvre and comfortable for residents to use, will allow those residents who might otherwise be bedridden to leave their rooms and participate more fully in life at the centre.
Residential care and services manager, Robyn Stepnell said the chairs would be of great benefit to residents.
“It’s about pain, it’s about mobility, and it’s about comfort [for residents],” she said.
“We appreciate the work [the auxiliary] does in raising funds for us,” she said.
