Bowls teams face finals pressure

SIX teams are still in the running for the 2015/16 Northern District Bowling Division midweek pennant finals, with competition resuming tomorrow.

Five points separates fourth-placed side, Barham Service and sixth-placed Kerang Golf, with Pyramid Hill fifth on the ladder with 58 points.

Both Pyramid Hill and Kerang Golf will take on the competition’s two Barham-based teams in the coming eight days, with the team with the best record to go through to the finals.

Eight points separates competition leaders, Cohuna Gold and third-placed Barham Services, with Kerang wedged in between.

Tomorrow’s match between Cohuna Gold and Kerang will determine which of these sides will finish the season as minor premiers.

Meanwhile, the competition’s Division Two finalists are set, with fifth-placed Barham Sports unable to dislodge fourth-placed side, Barham Services.

Three points separates second-placed side, Cohuna Golf and third-placed team, Kerang, with the higher-placed squad to play in the second semi-final.

Pennant finals will begin on February 3, with the final occurring on February 17.
