Kerang Christian College helps kids ‘flourish’

DISCOVER the difference at Kerang Christian College with their upcoming Step into Prep and Year 7 orientation days.

Offering Prep to Year 12, Kerang Christian College can accommodate all your school-aged children. Not only making it easier for parents to manage school drop offs and events, a P-12 school can help your child flourish in many ways.

Students of all levels can access facilities not usually found at a primary school such as our fully-equipped kitchen, where Year 4/5/6 students thoroughly enjoy the chance to cook a variety of dishes.

The school’s newest building offers a fully equipped canteen with food options available before school, at recess and at lunch. Focusing on healthy choices as well as a few treats, students love the variety as well as the covered outdoor seating area attached.

This building also includes a well-appointed wood working room and science wing. Filled with up-to-date equipment, these innovative spaces are allowing students to discover new interests and enjoy interactive learning.

With a variety of ages, the college also provides opportunities for cross-age activities such as the whole school cross-country. Older students run beside any younger ones who need motivation to keep going, while the younger students cheer from the side lines as they see their mentors taking their turn. These types of activities provide opportunities for the older students to build leadership skills while the younger students benefit from the positive role models.

Being a smaller school, teachers also become acquainted with students across the year levels. This in turn allows students to feel comfortable with all staff and the transition into secondary school can run much smoother.

Watching students grow and blossom from Prep to Year 12 is such a privilege for staff at the college – walking beside the students as they transform into young adults is an honour their teachers rejoice in.

Lifelong friendships amongst the students are also formed across this time. After spending 13 years together, meaningful friendships are built, ready for them to step into adulthood with peer support.

Want to discover more? It’s not too late. Just contact the Kerang Christian College office to arrange a tour or for your child to attend one of our upcoming orientation days.
