IT was Graham Wyte’s turn to cook and do the dishes last Wednesday lunchtime so he took his lovely lady Thelma out to the Exchange. It was noticed that Thelma still had to do the ordering though.
Graham is the former secretary of the Kerang Golf Club and still contributes the golf notes each week.
A former footballer with Calivil in the Loddon Valley League from the sixties era, he played in the good old days with some club legends like the Freemantles, Boyds and Maxteds. A few memories there Mr Wyte!

YOUNG Mabel Spitty has won the ladies competition at Kerang Golf the last couple of weeks.
Seven-year-old Mabel is about three foot nuthin’ and loves her golf, along with other sports. There is every chance that she will grow a bit as her dad’s not vertically challenged.
Good on you Mabel, hope you enjoy your sport.

THE first two rounds of local footy have seen pretty big crowds in attendance.
Kerang’s home game against Tooleybuc-Manangatang saw an above average crowd and the Cohuna Kangas v Kerang match at Cohuna on the weekend was a bumper crowd.
The Kangas and the Blues will both be expecting to see some finals action this year, so that may have contributed to the crowds, but it could also be just that people are enjoying the fact that footy’s back.
Pav Messer is managing the canteen at Wandella and thought he had over-catered, but ran out of a few things in the first round. You can guarantee that Pav’ll be right on it each week.
People are just happy to have footy back.

EIGHTY-year-old Tunna Roberts trundled into The Gannawarra Times office to place a thank you notice for the birthday wishes in the April 13 edition.
He also wanted to find out who put the brilliant half page birthday notice in that edition. It was a birthday notice with a very simple message but it had some serious punching.
Tunna thinks he knows who placed the ad, and he also thinks he knows who didn’t place the ad.
The mystery continues as to who did place it, but Tunna is obviously chuffed about it.
