TWELVE ladies entered the Wednesday Stableford competition in fine, sunny conditions, and they stayed that way for most of their round.

Margaret Learmonth won with 37 points on a countback from Carol Dear, also on 37. Others in the ball pool were Jenny Waterson with 34.

Nearest to the pin on the 9th was Ange Morton.

In very warm, sunny conditions, 28 members entered Thursday R&R Stableford competition and Steve Phillips and Luke Hadfield finished on 39 points, with Steve winning on countback.

In the ball pool were M. Wilson and J. Tartaglia on 37, W. O’Neill 35 and G. McNeil 34. Nearest the pin were R. Fabry on the 3rd and 5th, L. Hadfield on the 9th and Allan Free (“Poddy”) had a hole-in-one on 13th. No one got close on the 16th.

On Remembrance Day, 28 men and two ladies entered. The winner was Brendan Shields with 38 points.

The ball pool included B. Shay and C. Waterson and R. Schultze, all on 37, D. Meehan 36, W. Hall, G. Bean and G. Teasdale 35.

Nearest the pin were B. Shields (3rd), J. Tartaglia (5th ), P. Lloyd (9th), R. Nesbit (13th) and D. Gray (16th).

Next week is the start of the club’s annual tournament, so players should get their entries in for a big week of golf.
