WEDNESDAY was the ladies’ championship second round.

The day’s stroke event was conducted alongside the championship round and the winner with 87-18=69 was Meagan Taylor, followed by Carol Dear 99-27=72, Marg Learmonth 96-23=73 on countback, and Shirley Jenner and Olive Spitty each on 73 net.

In round 2 Olive Spitty fired an impressive 73-2=71, then Meagan Taylor 105-18=87, Mabel Spitty 102-14=88 and Angela Morton 107-15=92.

At the end of round 2 the leaders in A Grade are O Spitty 71, 71; M Spitty 92, 88; A Morton 92, 92; J Waterson 97, 94; M Taylor 101, 87.

In B Grade: S Jenner 101, 99; C Dear 104, 99; N Robinson 104; 105; R Willoughby 112, 110.

The leaders in the Les Jobling Trophy are J Boyd on 65 points, followed by O Spitty and Chrissy Downs on 64 points.

There was another good turn-up for Thursday’s R&R stableford event, won by Greg McNeil on 37 points followed by T Turvey 36, C Wilkie 34 on countback and B Shields 34.

NTPs went to A Free 3rd, G Service 5th, J Ackland 9th, G Wyte 13th and C Wilkie 16th.

Saturday was round 2 in the men’s championships.

Winner of the day was C Waterson with 76-4=72 and runner-up was S Worner 90-18=72.

In the ladies, the day’s winner was M Taylor with 35 points and runner-up Crissy Downs with 34 points.

Championship leaders after second round:

A Grade: A Spitty by three shots from C Waterson.

B Grade: S Harry by one shot from G Wyte.

C Grade: A Free and C Gillen level.
