Plenty to waffle about

Waffles in Cohuna now has a liquor license and are pretty keen to serve up some lovely evening meals. All the best to Jenny and the crew.

Caught up with old mate Lurch a week or two ago when she was relaxing having a cuppa with brother Jack.

Lurch used to write a very entertaining column for the Wandella tennis competition way back when, and it was always enjoyable to read.

Some of the names were changed to make it interesting. Think one of them might have been Mrs Tupperware. Was that Gail M?

Anyway, Lurch’s lads, Adam and Ben, and families are doing well and the young lady looked fit enough to still be playing tennis too.

The lovely Caitlin Sutterby from the Exchange Hotel tipped six winners in round 11 of the AFL. That was the weekend with all the upsets.

The round average was 3.7 according to the online tipping, so, Caitlin, not a bad job at all.

It has been brought to my attention that a sign on the highway in front of the bowling club says “Drink Driving, There Better Apart”.

We all know it should be “They’re Better Apart”. Whoever is responsible could have put “They Are” but we have to assume that the digital sign doesn’t give them the option of an apostrophe.

Now that it has been mentioned, it will probably annoy a few folks when they see it.

A young lady from the local district was quietly driving down Victoria Street last Wednesday when, bang! She had a blowout.

It frightened the living daylights out of Jack Whitehead, who was driving past on his gopher. Jack thought the riot squad were attacking him with rubber bullets.

A quick phone call to Tyler Wilson had him there in no time to fix the tyre and get the driver on her way.

Wonder if the lovely lady went for a shot of whisky as was discussed?

A few students from the local area have been doing work experience.

Hope that they all have a good time, get some good life lessons and maybe find a career.

The Little Blue Book Shop in Kerang is running a wonderful little book competition for primary school children where entrants can create their own picture or story book.

Full details and entry forms can be collected and are only available from The Little Blue Book Shop.

Great job, Amanda

A local bloke has sold his business for a tidy sum.

Anyone wondering what he will do now, could probably assume there would be a chance that someone could hit the golf course a bit more often?

Congratulations to those concerned.
