ON Friday 21 pairs entered the Wishart Jewellers gold watch Ambrose. Entries came from Lakeside, Barham, Belvoir Park, Charlton, Murray Downs, Donald and Kerang.

The best score was the pair from Lakeside, Deanne Free and Mandy Male, with 39 points, runners-up on a countback with 37 points were Lisa Hyne and Anne Laughlin. Third place went to Deaniee Henderson and Jean Youl 37 and M Dillon and N Robinson also 37.

Scores ranged from 39 to 24 points. NTPs J Bibby 3rd, W Laffin 5th, J Holmberg 9th, W Laffin 13th and S Hall 16th.

Sunday was the Golconda four-person Ambrose.

Winning team Nick King, Trent O’Neil, Rob Dick and Geraldine Kennedy scored 68-11.6=56.4, from M Dillon, S Jenner, T Turvey and sponsor Ian Keys, with 66-6.7=59.3. In third place J Hewitt, M Downs, B Gladman and J Marshall with 72-11.7=60.3.

The pen award went to R Taylor, R Fabry, N Robertson and W O’Neill with net 70. NTPs went to I Keys 3rd and 5th, S Jenner 9th, R Dick 13th and N Robertson 16th.

At Wednesday’s ladies golf Carol Dear had a good round to be the winner.

Runner-up was Meagan Taylor and Rosie Laughlin was in the ball pool. Angela Laughlin was nearest the pin on the 9th.

It was great to see some of our new players having a go.

Next week will be monthly medal. Meet at 9.30sm for a 10am hit-off.

At Thursday’s R&R Stableford, we had a big field (29) and the scores were wildly spread from the high of 39 to the low of 24 and lots in between.

The winner was Chris Manners (8) with a fine score of 38 points, next was Ray Gannon (30) with 36, G Wyte (13), A Free (19) and D Ellwood (23) all on 35 points.

Last in the ball pool was K Chase (23) on 34 points on countback. NTPs went to S Jenner 3rd, D Meehan 5th, L Hadfield 9th, M Dillon 13th and C Manners 16th.

At Saturday’s monthly medal stroke, we had 25 players, seven ladies and 18 men.

The monthly medal winner was Terry Turvey with 84-14=70. Our young lady winner of the Goblet was Mabel Spitty with 93-18=75.

In the ball pool were R Gannon 71, T Hall 72, C Waterson 73, O Spitty 74 and K Chase 75.

NTPs went to P Jones 3rd, R Schultze 5th, G Wyte 9th, T Turvey Superpin (13th) and C Waterson 16th.
