STARTING school is a great milestone in your child’s life.
Each child is special with their own interests and gifts.
At St Joseph’s Primary School Kerang the school recognises and values the individuality of all children.
A balanced curriculum focuses on the academic, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative development of each child in an environment that is faithful to the Catholic tradition.
This year is a Jubilee year for the Catholic Church where it is focused on being pilgrims of hope.
Respect of self, others and the environment are important at St Joseph’s and the school promotes and teaches positive behaviour.
A school spokesperson said it was important that the school environment was one where children felt happy and safe.
“Such an environment allows students to be engaged in their learning and experience success at school,” the spokesperson said.
“We have a highly professional and dedicated staff who give generously of their time and expertise to ensure that children receive the best opportunities possible to succeed.
“We pride ourselves on being a professional learning community and the motto that drives our work everyday is ‘ensuring learning for all’.”
To ensure all our students are successful in their learning, the school is proudly part of the Magnify Sandhurst project representing a major investment in the educational experience of your children, and partnering with five national and international organisations across the areas of neuroscience, literacy, the Victorian learning curriculum, the behaviour curriculum as well as individual professional coaching for the teachers.
In a first-of-its-kind experience, and in partnership with our peers across Sandhurst, the school is determinedly committed that children can experience the very best that education throughout Australia has to offer.
In addition, the school offers many additions to the curriculum, both from an academic and a wellbeing perspective; e.g. MiniLIt, MacqLit and counselling services.
At St Joseph’s, the responsibilities of education are shared in partnership with parents.
The school is also fortunate to have supportive families who contribute greatly to the life and sense of community at the school.
