LOTS of good things happening around the club even though it’s autumn and the weather is somewhat chilly.
Twenty-three keen bowlers turned up last Tuesday for a social game, enhanced by a playlist from the eras we all identify with! Great to see our “Noddy of Tuesday” slip effortlessly into her new role; some people wear many hats with ease.
Winners on the day were Ken S, Alison, Marian and Barb; some regular and new faces having success.
Pie and soup triples on Thursday was well attended and the delicious soup appreciated on a cool-ish day. Winners were from our club this week, being skipper Rick, Ken H and Kay C, and congratulations to them.
Friday night’s tea of roast beef rolls with gravy was attended by about 20 diners, some of whom then got into practising their indoor bowls skills for the evening. An enjoyable fun occasion for all.
Saturday’s social winners were skipper Noddy, Gaye, Pat and Maurie. Good to see Maurie have success on his return to bowls and well done Gaye who is getting into the winners’ circle on a regular basis. All that special coaching is paying off.
Thanks to Val’s generosity and baking skills, Marilyn and Rhonda went home with a sponge each from the raffle. Donations to the raffles are always appreciated and add an interest to the day’s presentations.
There’s an increased jackpot next week, so big numbers are expected to turn up.
A reminder that annual subs are due and payable.
