ON Wednesday, Ange Morton won the ladies’ competition with 37 points. Jan Harry was next in the ball pool with 34 points, Ange Gouzales had 30 points and Nola Robinson had 29.On Thursday Tony Hall (18) has come into some good form lately and on Thursday won with 38 points on a windy day. In the ball pool were Tony Laughlin (9) 37, Graham Wyte (11) 36, Allan Free (20) 34, and the last ball went to Rob Fabry (20) 32 on countback from Kevin Chase (26) and Doug Ellwood (22). Nearest the pins were Tony Laughlin on the 3rd and 5th, Barry Gladman on the 9th, Joe Tartaglia on the 13th and Doug Meehan on the 16th.

On Saturday practice by David Wood (9) finally paid dividends when he out the Greenwood Mug. He started badly, bogeying the first two holes, but birdies on the 4th, 7th and 13th suggested a good score was looming. Then came bogeys on the last three holes and he finished on 40. The ladies’ goblet winner was Jan Harry (11) 34, still in good form after winning the monthly medal, on countback from Jenny Waterson (15).

In the ball pool was Pat Featonby (19) and Rob Fabry (20) on 39, Chris Gray (14) 36, Barry Gladman (27) 37, Neil Carmichael (37) 36, Jim Clark (14) and Gary Hayes (15), both on 35.

Nearest the pins were Terry Turvey (3rd), Brad Murray (5th), Logan Keighran (9th), Doug Ellwood, with a near hole in one, on the 13th and Chris Gray on the 16th. The pen winner was a happy Maurice Meehan of Lalbert.

This week is the club’s annual tournament with a men’s and ladies’ four-ball sponsored by Choice Cut Butchers, the Pat McKnight Trophy stroke event sponsored by Halls Hardware and a three-person any-combination Ambrose sponsored by Walkers IGA of Kerang.
