Across the Greens – Cohuna

NUMBERS were down a little on Tuesday this week after a very big weekend of bowls.

Winners this week were Ken S, Barb and Gaye. Well done.

Tuesday night the date was set for presentation night. This will be April 15. Names on list in the clubhouse.

Wednesday Pennant: Very disappointing result on the day but Frank’s rink did all they could to get us over the line. Cohuna 1 lost to Kerang 1 by a handful of shots.

This means we need to regroup and have plenty of practice before we confront Cohuna Golf next Wednesday at Kerang. Good luck to all players.

A big thank you to those who came to support us last week. Hopefully you will come along again this week and cheer us on.

No Saturday pennant for us this week but what exciting games were played at Barham.

Cohuna Golf 1 got over the line in a great spectacle of fine bowling. Up over Barham by five shots. Cohuna Golf 2 also had a tussle with Barham 2 only to miss out by a few shots overall. Cohuna 1 will meet Cohuna Golf 1 in the grand final at Kerang on Saturday. Go Cohuna.

Champion of Champions semi-final and final was held at Kerang on Sunday.

Frank had a very close game against Gary Easton in the semi, only to go down in the final against Brodie Harker. Well done Frank you did the club proud.

Rhonda played Barb Williams in the semi to win her way into the grand final. What a great final it was going down to the wire.

Jean Fairchild was the victor on the day, but both ladies played some excellent bowls. Congratulations to both Frank and Rhonda on making the grand final and representing our club, you did a fantastic job.

See you all at bowls on Tuesday. Names in by 9.15am please. This would be a good opportunity for those involved in pennant this week to have a practice and maybe impress the selectors.
