Vaccine times for families

GANNAWARRA Council’s immunisation program will continue in 2023, with sessions at times that are accessible for young families.

Immunisation sessions are held at the Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre, Kerang, on the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30am to 12 noon, as well as on the third Wednesday of the month between 4pm and 5.30pm.

Sessions are also held at the Cohuna Maternal and Child Health Centre on the third Wednesday of the month from 10.30am to 12 noon.

Bookings for all council immunisation sessions are essential. Call 5450 9333.

Council chief executive Tom O’Reilly said it was strongly encouraged that only one parent or guardian accompany the child who is to be vaccinated when attending council’s immunisation sessions.

“Most importantly, please do not attend if you or your child has symptoms of a respiratory infection such as fever, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath or a cough,” he said.

“Council’s immunisation sessions are well supported by the community and ensure that children are able to receive their scheduled vaccinations on time to protect against vaccine preventable diseases.

“All sessions are open to the public regardless of where you live.”

People who are being vaccinated need to remain onsite for 15 minutes after their appointment to be observed by the nurse on duty.
