Murrabit Lawn Tennis Club tournament a success

THE Murrabit Lawn Tennis Club hosted its 78th annual Easter tournament, with perfect weather and a high number of entries.

The club ran the mixed competition on Good Friday and doubles on Easter Saturday.

Many competitors were visitors who camped onsite under the gum trees.

Organisers thanked the committee and greenskeepers for ensuring the courts were in such great condition.

“Easter is all about family and friends, and we had many family groups gathering for their yearly Easter get-together,” the club said.

“We love that our tournament can be the destination and enjoyed by so many.

“Our numbers were up this year, with 210 entrants playing across the two days.

“It was a fun, social atmosphere, with everyone enjoying either playing or watching great tennis.”

As is the tradition in Murrabit, many competitors dressed up with their partners in matching costumes.
