Across the Greens – Cohuna

Cohuna

TUESDAY saw 36 eager bowlers roll up for a game. All rinks were very even over the day and the only two-game winners were Rick, Jeff, Marg M and Ann. Well done team.

No midweek pennant bowls on Wednesday as Mother Nature once again intervened.

There were some pretty disappointed people around. Hopefully we will get started this week.

Friday social nights are still very popular, so if you feel like tea after practice, just hang about. I believe this week sausages, onions and coleslaw are on the menu.

Saturday pennant got off to a reasonable start. The selectors had a tough job with so many unavailable. Division one played Cohuna Golf at home, winning two very close rinks: Cohuna 4/50 lost to Cohuna Golf 8/67.

Division two had a great start to the season with all rinks up: Cohuna 96/12 d Kerang Golf 35/0.

Division three had a very close tussle with Kerang and won on the day, 64/8 d Kerang 55/4.

Unfortunately, we were unable to field our second Division 3B team on the day due to lack of numbers.

Congratulations to Brian Bowles and Wayne Brookes on winning the NDPA State pairs on Sunday.

Midweek and Saturday pennant teams are displayed at the clubhouse and on our Facebook page. Please check to see where you are playing each week. This is your responsibility to know, not the selectors place to tell you.

Don’t forget names in by 12.15pm for a 1pm start Tuesday. Hope to see everyone there by 12.50pm. Good bowling.
