DENNIS Griffiths was the winner with 38 points at last Thursday’s R&R at Cohuna.
Mal Appleby had 36 and Garry Hooper scored 35.
NTP went to Joel Woolhouse on 8, Garry Hooper on 11 and Graham McCormick on 17.
On Saturday, Don Potter returned to form with 41 points, Rob Wilson was closest on 2, Alan Moloney on 8 with Joel Woolhouse taking the prizes on 11 and 17.
Sunday’s ladies winner was Genivieve Hare with 35 from Liz Thynne and Jennie Goulding with 34 each.
NTPs went to Liz Thynne on 11 and Roby McGraw on 17.
For the men, Peter Doyle had a scorcher with 40, Kevin Dehne had 37 and Jeff Mason had 36.
Joel Woolhouse was NTP on 2, Dom Baxter on 8, Dennis Griffiths on 11 and Kevin Dehne on 17.
Good luck to our men’s knockout finalists, Geoff Miller and Joel Woolhouse, who will contest next Sunday to find our 2022 winner.
KERANG
Ladies golf on July 20
It was a very cold start for the 11 lady golfers. Michelle must have been watching Cameron Smith. She won the day with 40 points which included birdies on the 10th and 18th. Meagan had a better day with birdies on the 3rd and 13th. Jenny (33 points), Meagan and Jill (32 points) were in the ball pool.
Marg had a lovely shot to win nearest the pin on the 9th. Lorraine has a new pen to enjoy.
We hope to see more players next week.
Thursday R&R Stableford on July 21
The old boys braved the cold conditions for another game of golf and John Murphy (24) was on fire in those cold conditions to win with 40 points.
In second place was Doug Ellwood (24) with 37 and the ball pool was Wayne O’Neill (23) 36 and young Chris Waterson (5) 35, got the last ball on c/b.
Also in the ball pool was Phil Lloyd (10) and Col Wilkie (14).
NTP were 5th T Laughlin, Terry Turvey 9th, Doug Meehan 13th and Graham Wyte 16th and no one managed to land on the 3rd.
Saturday Stableford on July 24
A very small field of golfers on Saturday, probably scared off because of the morning rain, played stableford and the winner was the ever-affable Doug Ellwood (23) with 41 points and the next best was John Murphy (23) on 35.
The last two in the ball pool were Phil Lloyd (10) and Col Wilkie (13) on c/b from Shane Dibsdale (11) all on 34 pts.
NTP the pins were Ross Nesbit on the 3rd and 5th, David Gray 9th and Doug Ellwood nearly getting a hole in one on the 13th.
VETERANS
A SMALL field of Veteran golfers braved the icy conditions at Lakeside Golf Club on Tuesday morning but enjoyed the hot soup for lunch provided by the good ladies.
The lady winner, with 27 points, was Jean Youl and Marg Learmonth was runner-up with 26 points on a count back from Marg Moore.
Men’s winner was the big hitting captain Graham Wyte, with 32 points, on a count back from Graeme Bray.
Ball pool winners were Meryl Cameron, Marg Moore, Peter Roberts and Ian Dodd.
NTP were Meryl Cameron, Ian Dodd, Peter Roberts and Hank van de Veen.
The next veterans event is at Murrabit (Sandscrape championship) on Tuesday, August 16.
As it could be the last time we play at Murrabit, a good roll up would be great.
