YOUNG Mitch Treacy competed along side the “more senior” members in R&R Stableford last Thursday showed the old boys a thing or two by taking out the day with the best score of 38. Dennis Griffiths also played well with 37 and the recent good form of Brian Roberts continued with 36. Brother Jake came in fourth with 35. NTP prizes went to Alan Moloney on the 2nd, Ted Jackson on the 8th and Dennis Griffiths on the 11th.
On Saturday, Richard Callen scored best with 38, followed by Geoff Miller and Gary Yates, both with 36. Brian Roberts and Brenton Smyth were next with 35. NTPs went to Mal Appleby on the 2nd, Richard Callen on the 11th and Brenton Smyth on the 17th.
Sunday’s ladies Stableford was taken out by Helen Thies with 37, followed by Ros Dunne with 34 and Wendy Woods with 33. Robyn McGraw was closest to the pin on the 8th, as was Helen Thies on the 11th. For the men, Joel Woolhouse has a great round with net 70, followed by young tyro Mitch Treacy with 72 and Geoff Miller with 73. Next best were a bunch on 75 including Liam Pascoe, Brian Roberts, Don Potter and Wayne Dye. NTPs went to Wayne Dye on the 2nd, Scott Carmichael on the 8th, Liam Pascoe on the 11th and Joel Woolhouse on the 17th.

Wednesday ladies, June 29
THE birthday girl, Marg Learmonth (25), had a day out with a great score of 37 points. The runner-up was Shirley Jenner (23), who also had a birthday earlier in the week amd played to her handicap with 36 points. Michelle Dillon was in the ball pool and had a good shot on the 9th to take the Chino’s voucher. Joyce Boyd birdied the 3rd with a great gobbler. Meryl Cameron found the course a bit of a challenge, taking home the pen award. Next week is the Monthly Medal Shirt and Queen of the Greens events. At the end of play we will stay at the clubhouse for a share lunch.
Thursday R&R Stableford, June 30
IT was another wet start for our R&R golfers and again Brendan Shields (13) 37 points, showed off his mudlark skills to win for the second week in a row. In the ball pool were Col Wilkie (15) and Terry Turvey (13), both on 36. Tony Laughlin (10) and Kevin Lane (17), on 34 each, won the last two balls from Peter Jones (14) on countback. Nearest the pins were Brendan Shields (3rd), Kent McNeil (5th), Gary Pay (9th), Col Wilkie (13th) and Terry Turvey (16th).
Saturday
WITH no footy on, numbers were up on other weeks and Poddy Free (20) had his best day for a while and won the monthly medal with a net 69. Ladies’ winner was Michelle Dillon (10) on countback from Shirley Jenner (23), both on net 72. The ball pool was David Wood (10), Bryan Livingston (17), both net 70, Chris Waterson (5) 71, Graham Wyte (13) and Shirley Jenner on 72 net each. Nearest the pins were Graham Wyte on the 3rd and 9th, Terry Turvey on the 5th and 16th and Shirley Jenner won the money on the 13th. Next week’s event is the Greenwood Mugge, so golfers should get in some practice because we don’t want to see Chris win it again.
