EIGHT ladies set out on Wednesday, May 11 and were glad to finish the round before the showers came. Meryl and Michelle boasted a birdie each.
Shirley was pleased with her winning score of 40 points after a few ordinary rounds.
Joyce and Rhonda had the next best scores to be in the ball pool. Michelle had nearest the pin on the 9th.
One player provided some entertainment while learning to control her new electric buggy. A fun day was had by all.
Next week 9.30am for a 10am hit off – all welcome.
Thursday R & R Stableford – May 12
Twelve hardy (or foolish) members set out in the misty afternoon, in a challenge with the course and weather. The winner being Casey Gillen (again) with a score of 35 points. In the Ball pool were Poddy Free and Joe Tartaglia, both with 34 points. Scores went down to 26 points. NTP’s went to C Gillen on the 3rd, P Lloyd 9th, 13th went to G Pay and 5th and 16th went begging.
Saturday Greenwood Mugge – May 14
A small field contested for the Greenwood Mugge, with the winner being Chris Waterson scoring 39 points. The ladies Goblet went to Michelle Dillon with 32 points. Ball Pool was D Wood 36, J Tartaglia 35 and R Nesbit 34.
NTP’s on the 3rd C Waterson, 5th J Hewitt, 13th R Nesbit, 16th C Waterson and the 9th went begging.
Cohuna
A VERY soggy Thursday saw what could be best described as a small filed take to the course to see Rhys Bradley record the best score of 33 points.
Kevin Crane and Don Potter had 30 to be split for 2nd place. The weather didn’t seem to bother Kevin’s accuracy as he scooped the NTP pool being closest on 2, 11 and 17.
Saturday’s Stableford competition saw Kevin Crane continue his run of good form with 39 points to take first prize. Trevor Farrant and Graeme Appleby both played well with 35 and Hayden Bird had 34. NTP’s went to Joel “60 degree” Woolhouse on 2, Geoff Miller on 8 and that man Kevin Crane on 11 and 17.
Sunday’s big Ambrose day saw a good field play in good conditions. For the ladies, it was the captain’s team of Liz Thynne, Marg Winship, Di Woolhouse and Robyn McGraw going around in even par from Jennie Goulding, Wendy Woods, Joy Johnson and Val Hoban.
The winning men’s team was made up of Nathan Orr, Jordan Simpson, Brad Short and Grant Ford followed by Dennis McGlone, Rick Easton, Patrick and Peter Doyle.
NTP’s on the day went to Kate Peace, Marg Winship, Helen Thies and Rhonda Ballard for the ladies and Grant Ford, Paddy Doyle, Dasher Barry and Peter Doyle for the men.
Congratulations to both our pennant teams getting through to the final to be played at Cohuna on Sunday, May 29.
Both teams will be playing against Lalbert so come along and show your support. Play starts at approximately 11am.
