AN afternoon of high tea and great music is coming to Lake Charm this weekend.
Gannawarra Shire Council’s Creative Gannawarra program and Lake Charm’s Cooking Up A Storm (CUAS) group is bringing Quiet Riot’s Jazz High Tea to the Lake Charm Hall on Saturday, from 4pm.
“Jazz High Tea is an relaxing and fun excuse to indulge in some freshly brewed tea and a selection of delicious savory and sweet treats while enjoying some of Australia’s finest jazz performers,” council chief executive Tom O’Reilly said.
“Jazz High Tea also celebrates the work many of our community groups undertake to make the Gannawarra a great place to live, with the Lake Charm CUAS group renowned for their regular gatherings, which see members cook a dinner together at the Lake Charm Hall.”
Melody maker Tamara Kuldin headlines the afternoon’s performance, which will see her own modern, sultry yet playful twist to a popular era of music.
“A lover of storytelling through song, Tamara’s unique and versatile vocal styling has been inspired by a diverse palette of female vocalists such as Doris Day, Blossom Dearie, Sarah Vaughan and Joni Mitchell,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“Whether singing up a festive storm in a glorious Italian piazza, fronting a jazz orchestra at the Arts Centre or playing one of Australia’s intimate jazz clubs, Tamara knows how to make an audience feel like they’re part of something special.
Tickets are $20, which includes the performance and afternoon tea.
