Friday night was the culmination of our 2022 season and the clubhouse was the venue for good food, good conversation and a few celebratory drinks.
After a fine meal the presentations were made to this year’s winners.
Ladies Novice: Lynda Smith; runner-up: Kaye Holmes.
Ladies Pairs: Mary Meredith and Sue Burgess; runners-up: Alison Ainger and Terri Hancock.
Ladies Club Champion: Judith Hipwell; runner-up: Alison Ainger.
Mixed Pairs: Rob Wilson and Marian Smith; runners-up: Ian Howard and Lynda Smith.
Men’s Club Champion: Jeff Reade; runner-up: Ian Howard.
Unfortunately some men’s events are still ongoing at this time.
Congratulations to all winners, all the best to the incoming committee for the coming season.
Pie and soup is now held on Thursday, also Saturday pick-up is not far away.

Kerang Golf
Anzac Day Triples was a full tournament as 24 teams took part in this annual fundraiser.
Thank you to all the visiting teams that supported the day, results will be in next week’s notes.
Our Thursday bowls was played in mild conditions as 12 members took part, after two games the winners were Trevor Linton and Stuart Robinson on 2 wins and 23 shots up.
Runners-up were Laurie Gray and Howard McClelland on 14 shots up and the encouragement chocolates went to Joycey Tuohey and Carol Pay.
On Sunday we had our Presentation Day and trophies were presented to all our champions for the past season.
Beforehand we had a game of social bowls played in glorious Autumn weather and there was a great turn-out as a game of triples was played before the presentations.
Winners were Jim Richards, Rob “Curly” Curtis and Jeff Anderson as they were the only team to win both games.
Runners-up were Rosie Laughlin, Jim McLeish and Rob Fisher on a win and a tie and eight shots up and the encouragement chocolates went to Marlene Orr, Ken Pay and Rob Fabry.
Social bowls will now continue on Thursdays and after consultation with members, Sunday will replace Saturday while the football season draws members to their games.
The first Sunday games will be this coming Sunday, registration for both days will be 12.45pm for a 1pm start.
The presentation of trophies won during the season was conducted by president Gary Borg, who congratulated all who had made the season a success.
Howard McClelland was the recipient of the Cliff Blythman Memorial Trophy as Men’s Champion and Lorraine Ritchie won the Claire Spink’s Memorial trophy as the Ladies Champion.
The 100 Up winners were Howard McClelland, winning the Lindsay Stewart Memorial Trophy and Marlenne Orr, as the Men’s B Grade was won by Jeff Anderson.
Club Pairs Champions were Andy Jeffs and Frank Ritchie, as Marlene Orr and Carol Pay won the ladies.
The Mixed Pairs was won by Frank and Lorraine Ritchie and the Men’s Fours by Ronnie McKerrow, Jim McLeish, Peter Niall and Rob Curtis.
The annual general meeting will be held later in the year.
It was great to hear that Mick Pors and Allison Medson had the first of potentially, many more wins, when they were the only three game winner on Kerang’s last day of their annual Easter Tournament.
A cigar and a champagne were reward for their great day.
