Musical creations

MUSIC is set to combine with nature in an interactive and colourful display which will enable community members to create their own plant symphony.

Titled The Plants, the playable street musical installation will bring music to one’s ears.

“The Plants features real plants straight from the garden, which are connected to sensors and computers developed by Playable Streets that allow you to control a magical sound world,” Gannawarra Shire Council chief executive Tom O’Reilly said.

“Employing sophisticatedinteractive technology, this installation gives participants the chance to compose their own melodic creations through interactions with plants.

“Visitors can create their own solo masterpiece, or play with friends, family or even total strangers, to create a collaborative symphony.”

The unique collaboration will encourage community members to delve into their creative side as they bring their own musical creations to life.

The interactive musical experience will be brought to life thanks to the Gannawarra Shire Council’s Creative Gannawarra program, in partnership with Regional Arts Victoria, Creative Victoria and funding from the State Government’s COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund.

The initiative will take place at Cohuna and Kerang from Friday.
